What is alopecia ?
There are many solution to hide alopecia. However, scalp micropigmentation is one that offers the best results. Alopecia is rapid hair loss, more than 100 per day, over a period longer than 2 months. There are several types of alopecia, the most common being:
- Androgenetic alopecia: this is the most common form of alopecia. It mainly affects men and consists of a large loss of hair volume. This is usually referred to as baldness.
- Alopecia acute: this form of alopecia is often the result of a heavy treatment (chemotherapy), an intense stress, hormonal disorders or important deficiencies. This form of alopecia affects both men and women. It can be traumatic because of its extremely rapid progression.
- Localized alopecia: it is most often due to skin problems or parasites (ringworm). This form of alopecia is characterized by hair loss per plaque. This is why we also talk about plaque alopecia. It most often manifests itself as a crisis and is generally reversible.

Long term solution to hide alopecia
The solution to hide alopecia are generally unsatisfactory. Solutions such as powders, hairpieces, hair implants do not necessarily produce convincing or lasting results. Or they can be invasive and costly.
Scalp micropigmentation is an excellent alternative to these solutions and provides immediate and lasting results on any type of alopecia, whether temporary or permanent. In cases of alopecia areata, it is possible to conceal the extent of the plates while awaiting regrowth.
This technique consists of concealing sparse areas by making small dots using a medical tattoo machine on the scalp. This solution give a density effect and is particularly discrete.
There are few contraindications and the results persist for several years. Touch-ups are also possible to maintain optimum results.
